Drew Wright may just find out what the Beatles experienced when they first came to America. Totally in your face fans. I had a call on the Morning Flight today that makes me think this is quite possible. A fan of Drew's in Toronto told me, she hasn't missed a Canadian Idol show! She claimed to be Drew's biggest fan. She and her friends managed to scare up over 2000 votes for him on Monday night. She wondered out loud if she could talk to Drew on Friday morning when we have him in the studio at 8:40 to reflect on this whole process and what he will bring to the stage on Friday afternoon about 5:30 during Drew Stock. She has been listening to the Peak on-line everyday since Canadian Idol started. And yes, you guessed it. She is coming up Friday morning so she doesn't miss a single thing. That is impressive.
However, we had another two fans, who heard me talking about the Toronto fan and came into the station to say, NO, that they were the biggest Drew Fans. I mean, they even wanted to know where Drew lives. They did everything but bribe us to get VIP tickets for Drew Stock. You can't blame them for trying I guess. And talk about being hyper! WOW! I have a feeling the main street of Collingwood on Friday, will look a whole lot like it did during the big Elvis Festival. So. c'mon down, bring a comfy chair and lots of flags and banners so we can impress the heck out of CTV.
Given the fact that Drew has been in the bottom group the last two shows, that points to the fact we have to pull out all the stops next Monday...vote fast...vote often and get your family and friends to help out.
