Important Safety Notices!

Monday, January 04, 2010

Ironically I mentioned ventilation safety this morning with all the drifting we have had and the Collingwood Fire Department was on the same page. Fire Chief Trent Elyea notified us of some important things to be award of. Check these out...

A reminder because of drifting snow…  vents to the outside of your house for things like furnaces and gas service need to be kept clear of snow

Also gas meters should be shoveled out as well.. the chief says they can freeze if packed in snow.

Snow around fire hydrants is normally cleared by town workers…but the chief points out they have been busy keeping up with other snow related issues..   so  there is no problem if you wish to help out and clear the snow from the fire hydrant near your house.
