Blue Is Beautiful Too!

Wednesday, June 24, 2009

A nice surprise as I was having dinner in the eating nook at our house last evening. I haven't seen one in quite some time, but what a pleasant surprise to see an Eastern Bluebird on the ground near the feeder. Then it flew up and perched itself on a dead Poplar limb for quite some time for me to enjoy. Nature certainly is soothing after a long day at the office. Guess I'd better make a note in my bird watching journal.

For those of you who wondered where I was this morning during the Morning Flight (thanks Dale for piloting in my absence), I needed some extra sleep this morning after that 10 P.M. MRI appointment I had last night at the Grey-Bruce Regional Centre in Owen Sound. Can you believe it? It goes almost 24-7. That was quite an experience going inside that unit for almost half an hour for pictures. I'm told this machine (which looks like a big donut) is worth well over a million bucks. Hospital equipment sure is expensive! Anyway, thanks to the nurses who served up some nice classic rock tunes to drown out the high pitched noises from the unit as it did it's thing.

How about a smile?....

The Mechanic and the Cardiologist

A mechanic was removing a cylinder-head from the motor of a Harley motorcycle when he spotted a well-known cardiologist in his shop.
The cardiologist was there waiting for the service manager to come and take a look at his bike when the mechanic shouted across the Garage,'Hey Doc, want to take a look at this?'
The cardiologist, a bit surprised, walked over to where the mechanic was working on the motorcycle.
The mechanic straightened up, wiped his hands on a rag and asked, 'So Doc, look at this engine. I open its heart, take the valves out, repair any damage, and then put them back in, and when I finish, it works just
like new.
So how come I make $39,675 a year and you get the really big bucks ($1,695,759) when you and I are doing basically the same work?'
The cardiologist paused, smiled and leaned over, then whispered to the mechanic...

'Try doing it with the engine running.
