Are you ready for winter driving?

In spite of the weather this week, the flu season is here! You can get your shot today at the Recplex in Wasaga Beach until 4 O'clock this afternoon. An ounce of prevention as they say. Listen to my Morning Flight over the next few weeks and I'll keep you posted on the dates of those coming up.

And you have to know, Old Man Winter is knocking on the back door, so I've decided to include some tips here from the OPP. It's good advise!...

 

 

SEE AND BE SEEN

“Keep Your Vehicle Reliable”

    • Check Your Headlights to make sure they are working
    • Clean your windshield (inside and out)
    • Have your wiper blades checked
    • Fill your windshield washer fluid reservoir
    • Have your battery checked
    • Always keep your Gas tank 1/2 full
    • Have your winter tires installed ( 4 recommended)

“Be Prepared”

    • Dress for Winter
    • Keep a Winter survival kit in your vehicle (blanket, flashlight, candle, cell phone and some food or drinks.
    • Know your location

“Driving”

    • Drive to Conditions
    • Keep an Increased distance between you and the vehicle in front of you.
    • If you start to lose control look to where you want to go.
    • Do not slam on brakes or accelerate.
