The song was originally Written by Canadian producer David Foster and English singer John Parr for the Canadian wheelchair athlete Rick Hansen, and his tour to raise awareness for spinal cord injuries. His journey was called the “Man in Motion Tour
Backed by members of the band Toto, John Parr recorded the song for the 1985 film soundtrack. It was the first single released from the album and it hit number-one on the US Billboard charts.
