With 2017 over and done Billboard released it’s top songs of the year list. The #1 song for the past year was Ed Sheeran’s Shape of You.
We thought it might be fun today to take a look back at the number one song of 1989!
This Rock’n’roll hall of fame band rose to prominence in the early 70’s with their original songs featuring raw guitar and blistering horn section playing uptempo rockers but by the 1980s their big hits came in the form of lavishly produced power ballads being composed or at least co-written but members outside of the band.
This 1989 hit written by pop genius Dianne Warren didn’t even feature one the original members on lead vocals. Still it goes down as one of the band Chicagos biggest hits and the #1 song of 1989!
