Wasaga Beach’s integrity commissioner has dismissed Mayor Brian Smith’s complaint against Counsellor Sylvia Bray, but has warned her not to break council’s procedural rules again.
Simcoe.com says the Mayor’s complaint focused on Bray refusing to leave her seat when asked by the chairperson, after Smith determined her use of the word ‘cowardly’ during a meeting, offensive.
A councillor’s refusal to leave his or her seat when asked by the chair is considered a breach of council’s procedural rules.
Council approved a recommendation to receive Commissioner’s Swayze’s report. The Mayor said he considered the matter “put to bed.”
