Simcoe.com reports that a group of organizations is looking to solve the problem of flooding in Collingwood.
The Collingwood Smart Stormwater Pilot Project is an innovative way to collect data in real time to help protect homes and basements from flooding.
Project manager Mark Palmer says that there is a higher risk of flooding due to seasonal effects, groundwater, melting snow, and climate change.
They are looking for 75 homes in Collingwood in which to install their “safe sump” pump system, as well as 10 internet-connected rain barrels.
