It is the first significant snow squall of the season.
Environment Canada has us under a Snow Squall Warning.
Under the snow squall bands, visibilities will be significantly reduced due to the heavy snow combined with blowing snow, and snow will quickly accumulate.
Lake effect snow squalls are affecting regions southeast of Georgian Bay and are expected to persist into this afternoon.
The heaviest snow squalls are currently located near Collingwood extending inland towards Barrie and Newmarket. Later this morning these snow squalls are expected to be located from near Meaford east towards Wasaga Beach and extending inland through Dufferin County.
Local snowfall amounts of 10 to 15 cm are expected today under the heaviest snow squalls.
