It’s a bit of a game of he-said-she-said between the Town of Wasaga Beach and the owner of a building downtown.
The Town released a statement on Friday about the expropriation of a building on Main Street. The statement said that council authorized the process in its meeting on September 26th, and the process is underway to expropriate 140 Main Street.
The Town says that the property provides direct frontage on the proposed new town square, which is part of the new downtown master plan.
They say the owner of the property, Mr. Frisoli, was not “blindsided” like he claims. The Town says that various options were explored such as working together or offering to purchase 140 Main Street, which Mr. Frisoli also denies happening. The Town says his demands are what caused them to move forward with expropriation.
