For a while now the OPP have been reminding us to “lock it or lose it”, so they conducted some tests the other day to see whose been listening.
Officers from the Collingwood and The Blue Mountains OPP were checking vehicle doors to see if they were locked.
In total, 36 vehicles were checked in the parking lot at Blue Mountain Village and found that 3 were unlocked and 4 had valuables in plain view. In Thornbury, 12 vehicles were checked with 2 unlocked and 2 with valuables in plain view.
The OPP say they conduct these tests on a regular basis, and will leave a small leaflet on the car with crime prevention information so you know it’s been checked.
