The Collingwood Hospital redevelopment is still a topic on everyone’s mind – especially at last night’s council meeting.
Planning Consultant and Healthcare Specialist Don May was asked to appear before council to take on the topic. He recommended the development of a technical committee with members from the town, the county, and the hospital. He also said that it’s too soon to say there’s a preferred site until the type of hospital and size is determined, which is what he said a technical committee would help with.
After May’s presentation, Deputy Mayor Brian Saunderson put forward a resolution that council approved unanimously. It was for council to work with the hospital in any way to ensure that the process gets to phase two.
