A major infrastructure overhaul will move ahead soon in Wasaga Beach.
The River Road West drainage and road improvements project starts later this summer.
Spanning a section of River Road West, between Brillinger Drive and Veterans Way, the work includes widening the road, the installation of sidewalks on the north and south side of the road, the addition of a dedicated turn-lane, and adding bike lanes.
The $5.4-million investment is possible thanks to $1.36-million from the federal government’s Clean Water and Wastewater Fund, as well as $683,507 from the province, and the balance from the town. The municipal portion will come from a variety of sources including taxation, reserves, and development charges.
