The Ontario Fire Marshal’s Office has completed its investigation into the fatal fire in Stayner that claimed the life of a young boy. Emergency crews rushed to the home on Highway 26 on Thursday for reports of a fire. Investigators have since determined that the fire was not suspicious and was accidental, but we still don’t know what started it.
CTV Barrie spoke to a friend of the family who said as many as nine people lived in the home, which included another family.
A GoFundMe page has been created to raise money for the families who didn’t have house insurance, and more than $24,000 has been raised so far. Organizers are looking for clothing and monetary donations. Visit the GoFundMe page to donate here.
