Last night, Ariana Grande’s One Love Manchester benefit concert had a star-studded lineup featuring artists including Miley Cyrus, Justin Bieber, Pharrell, Katy Perry and many more, to stand united with the UK in the face of recent terror attacks. According to the British Red Cross, nearly $3 million (£2.35 million) was raised during the concert alone for the We Love Manchester Emergency Fund. “Wonder Woman” director Patty Jenkins and Canada’s wonder boy Ryan Gosling are teaming up for a Superman indie film! Jenkins wants to make an indie drama titled “I am Superman” with Gosling, according to The Hollywood Reporter. The movie won’t be tied to DC’s cast of “Justice League” characters, but the movie’s tagline describes “a fighting pitbull finds itself on a strange and unexpected journey that will ultimately decide its fate.” Read more here.
The “Harry Potter” franchise has finished but fans have turned their attention to making a prequel film about Lord Voldemort, the central main antagonist in J. K. Rowling’s series. Warner Bros have reached an agreement with the film start-up Tryangle Films over the unofficial prequel, providing it is only released on YouTube ‘in a nonprofit way,’ according to Polygon.
