Yesterday, Simcoe-Grey MPP Jim Wilson presented a private member’s resolution to the Ontario government at Queen’s Park regarding the approval of planning grants for hospital redevelopment projects in Collingwood and Alliston.
Wilson says he was pleased by the response, as the resolution received support from all three parties in the legislature. However, he said there’s still a ways to go in the process: “I want to thank the government for recognizing the need for the re-developments, but until the cheques are sent I’m going to keep the pressure on […] I encourage constituents to continue writing letters, sending emails and signing petitions. We’re not out of the woods yet.”
Almost 100 constituents from the two communities were in attendance to see Wilson’s speech at Queen’s Park. Stevenson Memorial Hospital President and CEO Jody Levac and Collingwood General and Marine Hospital President and CEO Guy Chartrand were both in attendance.
