As you have most likely heard by now, both the Collingwood G & M Hospital and Stevenson Memorial Hospital in Alliston are working toward redevelopments of their facilities. Both hospitals have completed Stage 1 of the approvals process and are preparing for the next stages of the five-part process.
However, Simcoe-Grey MPP Jim Wilson says that until the provincial government agrees to provide the required funding, there is little that can happen to get the hospitals built. Wilson will be debating a Private Members’ Resolution on June 1st at Queen’s Park that calls upon the Liberal Government to approve the planning grants.
The Resolution reads as follows:
“That, in the opinion of this House, the Minister of Health should immediately approve the planning grant requested by the Collingwood General and Marine Hospital in the Town of Collingwood; and, the planning grant requested by Stevenson Memorial Hospital in the Town of New Tecumseth allowing both hospitals to proceed respectively with much needed redevelopments.”
If you would like to attend Queen’s Park that day, MPP Jim Wilson urges you to let his office know. Buses are being organized by both hospitals, and you can find more details here.
