Police are investigating the arrests of three people in Barrie and Innisfil, as they are trying to find a possible link between the arrests and a deadly drug overdose.
On April 9th, a man in his 20s from Alcona died of what police believe was a fentanyl overdose. Four days later, police searched a home in Innisfil where they arrested one man after finding drugs including fentanyl.
This search lead police to arrest two more suspects on April 28th in Barrie. The two people most recently arrested were found driving a taxi cab, and police believe they were using it as a front to sell drugs.
Police are now trying to determine a possible connection between the Alcona man’s death and the three suspects.
