We recently had a chat with Simcoe Grey MPP Jim Wilson regarding his take on the hospital issue. In that conversation Mr. Wilson talked about a rally planned to support his Private Members Bill asking the Province for planning and grant funding for the Collingwood General and Marine Hospital. Here’s that interview but also note the News Release below as the date we discussed has been changed!
Important Notice: Changed date for my Private Members’ Resolution on the Collingwood and Alliston hospitals
I am writing to let you know that there has been a change to the date of my Private Members’ Resolution asking the government to approve planning grants for our local hospitals and allowing them to proceed with much need redevelopments. The full text of the resolution is below.
The change is a result of the budget happening this Thursday (April 27, 2017). All Private Member Bill (PMB) dates were pushed back by two weeks since PMBs can’t happen on budget day.
This means that the date for my PMB will now be June 1st at approximately 1:30pm.
The hospitals are organizing buses for anyone that might like to attend that day. The public can purchase tickets for the bus out of Collingwood at the following link www.cgmhf.com/queens-park . For more information about the bus out of Alliston we are urging anyone interested to contact the hospital directly or my office at 705-435-4087 or 1-800-268-7542.
Sorry for any inconvenience and please accept my best wishes.
Jim Wilson, MPP
That in the opinion of this House, the Minister of Health should immediately approve the planning grant requested by the Collingwood General and Marine Hospital in the Town of Collingwood; and, the planning grant requested by Stevenson Memorial Hospital in the Town of New Tecumseth allowing both hospitals to proceed respectively with much needed redevelopments
