With Premier Kathleen Wynne making her stops around Simcoe County yesterday and today, MPP Jim Wilson rose in the Ontario Legislature and asked the Liberal government a question yesterday.
Wilson asked when the government will finish the Highway 26 project at the eastern entrance to Collingwood. After opening the main part of the highway back in 2012, the government put phase 3 on the backburner.
Wilson says this move “is holding up job creation and economic development. If this section of highway was completed, the town could extend Sandford Fleming Drive to Highway 26, a move that would spur significant commercial development in the area.”
Transportation Minister Steven Del Duca did not give a direct answer to the question, but you can watch the exchange below.
