The Southern Georgian Bay detachment of the OPP have arrested and charged two men after emergency services were contacted when they went through the ice on snowmobiles.
On February 3rd shortly before midnight, police were called to Brandy Island Road in Georgian Bay Township. It was reported that two snowmobiles had gone through the ice and one man made it back to the shore while two others were out on the ice.
They were brought back to shore by rescue crews and sent to hospital with minor injuries. Both male snowmobilers were later found to be under the influence of alcohol, so the 47-year-old and 63-year-old men were charged.
