Two drivers have been charged for driving offences in the Collingwood area on the weekend.
In the first case, a man from Collingwood faces several driving offences after a vehicle stop in town. On Saturday, an officer on patrol saw a vehicle disobey a stop sign at the intersection of Pine Street and Side Launch Way. Not only is the 34-year-old driver being charged for that offence, but he was also driving without a valid permit and insurance which resulted in multiple other charges. The female passenger, a 21-year-old from Collingwood, is also being charged with permitting the motor vehicle to be operated without insurance.
In the second case, the OPP have charged a male driver from Georgian Bluffs after a reported collision. On Saturday, officers were called to a two vehicle collision at Grey Road 21 and Mountain Road where one driver fled the scene. After investigating, the police determined that one vehicle stopped at the red light and was rear ended. Both drivers then exited their vehicles to survey the damage and decided to pull off the roadway to a parking lot, however the driver at fault drove off where he was located at a residence nearby. The 22-year-old driver has been charged for the accident, and for operating a vehicle without insurance.
