The Town of Collingwood and Blue Mountain are already connected by public transit, but soon they’ll also be connected by a trail. Collingwood received a $65,000 grant from the Ontario Trillium Foundation to develop a plan for a trail that connects the municipality to the Blue Mountain Village and Resort.
Martin Rydlo from the Town of Collingwood told Simcoe.com: “It is going to be used to connect the village and the town of Collingwood and providing a multi-use trail for tourists and residents to be able to travel between two fantastic locations in the region.”
The plan will determine where the trail will lead, what kind of surface it will be on and what the costs would be to build it. They’re hoping to start work on the plan immediately and would like to have it completed in July.
