By now whether you’re an animal-lover or not, you’ve probably heard about the controversy surrounding the new film “A Dog’s Purpose”. A few days ago, TMZ posted a video of a dog in the movie being forced into some rough water during filming. Since then, many animal rights groups and others have become outraged. Now, Amblin Partners and Universal Pictures (who are behind the movie) have cancelled the premiere and other press tours.

With US President-elect Trump’s Inauguration on the schedule for today, Alicia Keys and other celebrities are teaming up for an hour-long program today to empower youth on Inauguration Day. The star-studded program is called “We Are Here”, and aims to rally Millennial America around the core freedoms protected by the First Amendment. Elected officials like Bernie Sanders and political activists such as Cenk Uygur of “The Young Turks” will be present, as well as more than a dozen celebrities. Names including Lin-Manuel Miranda, Mark Ruffalo, Taraji P. Henson, Janelle Monae and Chelsea Handler are just some of the celebrities expected to attend.
“No matter who we are, we have the right to express how we feel and proclaim our allegiance to freedom and democracy. I’m grateful to all the unique and important voices that have come together to tell our collective stories. It’s a necessary rallying cry!” says Alicia Keys in a statement obtained by ET Canada.
