UPDATE 01/13/17: Details from the OPP reveal that on January 6th, McNiven was walking her dog on River Road East and ran onto the roadway to get the dog when she was struck by a transit bus. The OPP confirm that the 25-year-old is in hospital and the investigation is ongoing.
Local residents are coming together to help a 25-year-old woman from Wasaga Beach who has suffered life threatening injuries after being struck by a transit bus. Around 6:30pm on January 6th, Kaytee McNiven was walking her dog with her brother on River Road East when the incident occurred. She was transported by air ambulance from Collingwood G&M Hospital to a Toronto hospital.
Her injuries will require ongoing medical care and more operations, and so a GoFundMe campaign has been started to raise money to support Kaytee and her family. You can find the campaign here.
