A man from Alliston has been sentenced to six years in prison for an impaired driving crash that killed a road worker in Alliston on June 20, 2014. Marcello Fracassi is also banned from driving for seven years, after the court heard that his blood alcohol concentration was more than double the legal limit on the day of the incident.
The wife of the victim told Simcoe.com, “My husband was 41. His life was certainly worth more than that […] I’m not surprised but I am disappointed. While I understand the judge’s position, you’re not really sending a message to stop this because it is not going to stop until somebody finally puts their foot down and makes it stop.” Fracassi was found guilty back in November of impaired driving causing death and bodily harm, and the six year sentence was announced yesterday.
