To start, we of course had two unfortunate stories over the Christmas Break. Reports surfaced on December 25th that George Michael passed away at the age of 53. George Michael’s manager says the pop star died of heart failure at his home in England. And just yesterday, Carrie Fisher was reported dead at the age of 60. Reports say she suffered a massive heart attack during a flight from London to LA last Friday. Michael and Fisher are being remembered for their work in the music and film industries.
And a Canadian pop-punk star has announced she’ll be back with her sixth studio album. Avril Lavigne revealed news on Christmas Day that she will be releasing an album in 2017! Lavigne said, “I’m really happy to announce that I am now working on new music […] I’m excited for you guys to hear the new songs. It’s going to be an amazing 2017!”
Hi Everyone!! I wanted to first thank my fans for your patience & support during my time away throughout my battle with Lyme Disease over the past 2 years. It hasn't just been a hard battle but it's also been enlightening and will reflect in my new music, artistry, life, and personally. I will always continue to make it a priority to fight and raise awareness about Lyme Disease with the Avril Lavigne foundation. I'm really happy to announce that I am now working on new music and I will be releasing a new album in 2017. I can't wait to open up and share my heart with you! I'm excited for you guys to hear the new songs. It's going to be an amazing 2017!
