A woman who was taking care of dozens of sledding dogs at a kennel in Huntsville has pleaded guilty to animal cruelty charges. Back in June, the OSPCA officers found 42 sled dogs suffering from a number of wounds, and some with limps and infected teeth. The dogs were part of a kennel on Deerhurst Resort property that was run by the accused, and the resort said they had a contract with the owner to provide dog sledding tours. But of course, the dog-sledding program was cancelled after the investigation. The woman faces a five-year probation on owning or caring for dogs, but will be allowed to own one dog that must be examined by a vet every three months.
