Hydro One reported thousands of customers without power after intense storms rolled through parts of the Georgian on Monday.
OPP say a number of buildings were damaged throughout The Town Of Collingwood including the roof of the Col-Can service Centre.
Police also said trees and hydro lines also came down in the storm and were advising motorists heading to take care as lights were out at many intersections.
They also advised people to remain at home crews worked to removes trees and wires from area roads.
Mayor Sandra Cooper Tweeted out a picture of some of the flooding after the storm.
Environment Canada has sent out a crew to assess at the damage and determine if it was in fact a tornado that hit the area.
