In casting news, Saturday Night Live has chosen Alec Baldwin to portray Donald Trump in their political sketches, with Hillary Clinton being played by Kate McKinnon from the existing cast. Alec Baldwin has hosted the show a record of 16 times, but he’s now officially part of the cast this season.
After the hilarious and successful 10-minute mini episode of Will & Grace, star Debra Messing admits that she caught the reunion bug. The mini episode centered around the US presidential election, with Will and Grace attempting to convince Karen and Jack to vote for Clinton. “The response has been very overwhelming and really, really heartwarming,” Messing told People. “If there was a ‘Will & Grace 2.0’, my wish is that we did 10 [episodes] on, like, Netflix or Amazon or somewhere where it could be the naughty version of ‘Will & Grace’.”
Sadly, the world of daytime drama is mourning the loss of a soap opera pioneer, Agnes Nixon, who passed away yesterday at the age of 93. She was the creator of iconic soaps “All My Children” and “One Life to Live”, and is remembered for confronting important topics such as racism, abortion, and drugs.
