I’m going to begin this post by making it clear that I had never dyed my hair before yesterday. I mean, unless you count a few highlights from a box in my own bathroom, but I’ve never added colours that weren’t already in my natural hair. Until yesterday.
I have been slightly obsessed with the pastel hair trend for a while now. And by “a while”, I mean a few months – but that’s a long time to want a hair colour. I started following accounts on Instagram that gave me my daily pastel-fix, like “The Unicorn Tribe” and “Pulp Riot Hair Colour”:
But eventually it wasn’t enough, because I wanted to see pastel hair colours every time I looked in the mirror. I was a bit hesitant to commit to a full head of pastels like the photos above, so I went to Fearless Vanity Hair and Tattoo Studio in Collingwood for a consultation. I spoke to Wendy, who was so helpful in taking my jumble of Instagram photos and ideas and making them into a plan that I was excited for.
I went in to the salon yesterday, starting with my natural locks. I was finished after two stages (the first involving lightening my blonde and the second involving adding the pastel ombre) and a few hours (you can’t rush art!). Here are the before and after photos – I’m so happy with it and can’t thank Fearless Vanity enough!
