Eating healthier is always our goal at home but we all live pretty hectic lifestyles. As a result often we don’t get to make the awesome dinner we had hoped to share and sure enough by the time we get to it some of our fresh food purchases are past their prime.
Apparently we are not alone! Around 80 per cent of food waste created by consumers was once perfectly edible.
Just some small changes to how we deal with our food can buy us a few more days of freshness.
* store wine in mason jars
* give raspberries a vinegar bath
* store sliced avocado with onions
* cover the top of the bunch of bananas
* store fresh herbs like fresh cut flowers in your fridge
