This song was one of two tracks that brought together Paul McCartney and Michael Jackson.
Apparently their friendship began with Michael Jackson calling up McCartney and suggesting a collaboration, Jackson flew out to England and stayed at the home of Paul and Lina McCartney during the recording sessions. While at the dining table one evening, Paul explained how lucrative owning publishing rights was. At the time McCartney owned the rights to the music of Buddy Holly, Carl Perkins and others. He recommended Jackson look into it.
Jackson and McCartney’s burgeoning friendship was derailed in 1984 when Jackson outbid McCartney for the publishing rights to a collection of Beatles songs, leaving McCartney to negotiate royalty rates with Jackson.
