Just so you know, I’m a fan of Farmers’ Markets.
I love the smell of the food, the quality – and also the fact that you’re often dealing right with the family that farmed the food.
Earlier this week, Galen Weston, executive chairman of Loblaw Cos. Ltd, said this:
“Farmers’ markets are great. . . One day they’re going to kill some people though.”
Afterwards, a Loblaw spokesperson said that Mr. Weston was referring to food safety not about the farmers markets being good or bad. He thinks that we should make food inspections happen through the entire system.
What do you think? Do you feel safe buying food at Farmer’s Markets?
