Quebec M-P Maxime Bernier has become the second official candidate to enter the federal Conservative leadership race.
Launching his campaign in his home riding of Beauce, Bernier vowed to run a small government if elected and to lower taxes.
Bernier and Ontario M-P Kellie Leitch are currently the only official candidates for the party’s top job.
But Ontario M-P Michael Chong is expected to announce his candidacy later today.
The Conservatives will vote for a new leader on May 27, 2017.
