If it gets approval, Wasaga Beach has a site for a new regional hospital.
Council has approved a donation of a 25 acre fully services parcel of land in the west end of town.
The value of the land is 4.5 million dollars.
It fronts on Lyons Court with access off Ramblewood Drive.
Mayor Brian Smith says its right in the centre of the area which the current hospital services which includes Collingwood, Wasaga Beach, Clearview and part of Blue Mountain.
The hospital board is preparing its pitch to the Ministry of Health.
Smith says the current hospital has outgrown its space.
The donation of land will only go through if this site is selection for a new regional hospital.
The President and CEO of the Collingwood and Marine Hospital says the Wasaga Beach land offer is one of the sites being looked at for a new regional hospital.
Guy Chartrand says the board is currently working through the process of determining the best facility design and location.
He says each site will be evaluated using detailed site selection criteria.
