As we battle the high winds and snow squalls from the warmth of our four walls, what happens to those in our community with no walls?
Major Neil Evenden from the Salvation Army in Collingwood says they operate an Emergency Housing program all year long which includes the
participation of local motels and housing provided by Simcoe County.
While there are those who couch surf or choose not to use the program, very few, if any remain in the cold and wet.
Evenden says the Salvation Army works closely with the Housing Resource Centre.
