A feasibility study is underway to determine whether the Muskoka Airport can accommodate a regional airline.
The District of Muskoka and their tourism organization have hired a consultant to do the study with the idea of having an airline in place in time for
Canada’s 150th birthday in 2017.
District official Michael Duben says the Muskoka airport has a new runway that can handle jet planes.
But he says the airport isn’t equipped to handle a large number of passengers and doesn’t have the necessary security measures in place.
